Jackson Pollock

Jackson Pollock

You know, different artists had different ways of creating art. Jackson Pollock, for instance, is famous for his splatter painting. He would take his paint tubes, and squeeze them and splat all the paint that came out onto his canvas. Jackson was born in 1912 and was raised in Cody, Wyoming. He first studied art when he was in school as a young child. That was in Chico, CA. He decided to be an artist. The paintings he made were odd, but many people cosidered them masterpieces. He died on August 11, 1956 (aged 44) in Springs, New York. Here's a way you can paint like Pollock at home. First, make sure you do it outside somewhere because it can get messy. Also wear a smock or an old shirt that can get paint on it. Then, lay newspaper down and put any piece of art paper on top of the newspaper. Now you take paintbrushes and dip them in paint, then flick your wrist so the paint on the brush splats in big lines across your paper. Repeat this over and over with different colors until you have splats all over the paper. Let your creation dry. You have a picture just like Jacson Pollock!
